Guatemala City

Guatemala City was established in 1776. It is the fourth location for the capital of Guatemala. The city is divided in 21 zones. The altitude is 1500 meters above sea level or approximately 4,900 feet. In zone 1 is the old historic center. The Mayor Plaza in Guatemala City is the historic heart. It’s surrounded by important monuments. Among them is the Original Palace which today is a museum called the “National Palace of Culture”.
